A cornerstone of the Oakland Ballet Company’s mission is to enable everyone to enjoy the ballet, regardless of their economic situation. Our extensive Community Outreach Program provides education and entertainment to thousands of people who may not otherwise be able to experience the joys of dance. Our 2009 Nutcracker community programs include the following:

  • The Oakland Ballet is donating 2,000 tickets to Title I public schools in Oakland. Eligible students and families will receive a voucher for up to four complimentary tickets, which must be redeemed in person at the Paramount Theatre box office before December 23, 2009. Limited quantities are available for the following performances: December 26 at 2:00pm, December 26 at 7:30pm, and December 27 at 2:00pm. If your child attends a Title I public school in Oakland, please contact the school office to receive your voucher.

  • Educators can use our downloadable guide to teach students about the Nutcracker.
